This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland .

This job announcement uses the Subject Matter Expert Panel Review to evaluate applicants Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.

Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

OR Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made.

Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position.

This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-14 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-13 or higher grade in the Federal Service.

For the GS-14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-13 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as: Researching, developing, designing, and producing visual communication products in support of the Agency.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.

Major Duties:

  • Oversees solution, and advanced production infrastructure, providing guidance and mentorship on system technical support, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Monitors a variety of highly sophisticated, complex and professional visual information activities such as, video, photography, graphics and printing for the entire Agency.
  • Monitors overall systems and AV/VTC sections performance to identify potential issues and tune as appropriate.
  • Provides advice and consultation to supported organizations to include review of customer requirements and recommendations for approval, disapproval or alternative of equipment requests, installation, maintenance, and support.
  • Oversees and executes business practices such as fostering team work, engaging personnel, seeking and providing clarity for all tasks, providing accurate and consistent quality assurance, and coaching and inspiring mission-focused personnel.
