Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a Supervisory Antiboycott Compliance Specialist in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

This experience need not have been in the federal government.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify at the GS-15 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as: Managing an organization or office and directing complex activities and audits.

Evaluating documents to interpret violations of antiboycott restrictions Coordinating with other parts of an organization or external organizations to provide, acquire information and documents to pursue joint actions.

Mentoring and training junior employees on regulatory issues involving antiboycott policies and procedures. Major Duties:

As a Supervisory Antiboycott Compliance Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Oversees the conduct of the Office of Antiboycott Complicance that has national or international impacts on the antiboycott compliance program.

Ensures that these operations are accomplished in a manner that makes the most effective use of Department resources.

Develops ways in which antiboycott operatoins and research projects can be enhanced and the effectiveness of research and operations staff improved.

Makes changes and improvments to research and operations that will facilitate the most efficient and economical operations.

Directs the interpretation and development of policies and guidelines, procedures and instructions for use by Office of Antiboycott Compliance.

Serves as senior representative for the agency in providing complex responses/ analyses to multiple audiences in Antiboycott policy, regulations, procedures and conveyed issues of concern.

Provide guidance to senior level officials on all antiboycott compliance related matters.
