Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing the daily operations of a military airfield, including maintenance, safety, security, and coordination with other teams to support aircraft and personnel.

A good fit would be someone with experience in aviation or airfield management who enjoys leading teams and handling logistics in a fast-paced environment. It's a supervisory role in the U.S.

Marine Corps based in Hawaii, focusing on keeping everything running smoothly for military units.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in airfield operations, including management of maintenance, security, safety, air traffic control, surveys, and customs inspections
  • Supervisory experience directing work through subordinate supervisors and managing administrative, clerical, and technical duties
  • Ability to coordinate airfield maintenance and construction projects with facilities departments and engineering commands
  • Skills in managing logistics support for tenant commands, including scheduling deployments and training areas

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide technical expertise in Airfield Operations to include; manage day to day operations of the airfield (e.g.

airfield maintenance, security measures, airfield safety, air traffic control, airfield surveys, and customs inspections) and supervise through subordinate supervisors all facets of the airfield involving administrative, clerical, and technical duties.

  • You will coordinate day-to-day requirements of both short and long term airfield maintenance and construction projects with the MCBH Facilities Department and Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific Division.
  • You will coordinate day-to-day operational and logistics support for tenant commands .
  • You will manage all facets of the Military Customs Inspector Program for the airfield.
  • You will attend meetings and conferences with tenant organizations to provide information, guidance and recommendations on future operations.
  • You will schedule and/or coordinate logistic support for the overseas deployment of tenant units.
  • You will schedule and or coordinate airfield training areas
  • You will compile, track, and disseminate historical data involving airfield operations when required.
  • You will exercise supervisory responsibilities to direct a sizeable work operation through subordinate supervisors whom in turn guide and control the work of subordinate employees.
