Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Accountant in the Comptroller Group, Accounting Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09-12) or pay band (NM-12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Supervisory Accountant.

Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Demonstrating responsibility and experience in financial management, accounting operations, payroll, travel processing, or related financial services; (2) Supervising or leading a team to direct staff and provide technical guidance; (3) Utilizing financial management regulations, policies, and internal controls applicable to payroll, travel, or financial transaction processing; (4) Working with financial management systems or sub-systems to process transactions or review financial data; (5) Analyzing financial or operational issues and resolve discrepancies; and (6) Communicating technical financial information clearly in writing.

  • You will ensure that operations and business practices are consistent with legal directives, financial management regulations, and command and higher echelon guidelines.
  • You will ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • You will provide clear and precise information to management and maintain an effective communication chain within and outside organizational lines.
  • You will direct overall travel and payroll operation to ensure documents are processed timely, accurately and in accordance with mandated directives and that accounting procedures reflect proper financial condition of customer accounts.
