This job is for substitute teachers at a state school in Colorado that serves students who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, or visually impaired.
You'll step in on short notice to teach classes using prepared lesson plans, help students learn key skills, and keep the classroom safe and supportive.
It's a good fit for patient, flexible people with experience working with kids, especially those who know sign language or assistive tech for disabilities.
Substitute Teachers are called to work on an as-needed basis; there are no set hours or guarantee of hours.
In the absence of a regular Teacher, a Substitute is responsible for providing standards-based instruction to students who are Deaf / Hard-of-Hearing or Blind / Visually Impaired.
Utilizes Colorado State Standards / benchmarks and/or lesson plans in establishing instructional goals; and provides assessments that measure whether students meet standards, in a safe and civil school environment.
Substitute Teachers are not eligible for Shift Differential Pay.
Substitute Teachers may not work over 1,560 hours during the calendar year (Jan-Dec).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Employment as a Substitute Teacher requires a current, valid Colorado Educator License or Substitute Authorization.
CSDB is an accredited school; all faculty members need to hold (or be eligible for) an appropriate license or authorization.
