Job Description

Summary

This job is for a store associate at a military commissary, where you'll help customers with shopping, handle checkout, and keep the store clean and safe.

OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Clerical Customer Service Electronics Oral Communication Personnel Security and Safety Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-03).

***Special Note for Military Members*** MILITARY RETIREES: A retired member of the Armed Forces may not be appointed to a civilian position in DoD (including a non-appropriated fund position) within 180 days after retirement -[**unless the following conditions have been met: the Secretary concerned authorizes the appointment; or the position is authorized special pay under 5 U.S.C.

  • Work independently or as part of a team with routine commissary tasks.
  • Assist customers with prices or location of items, operating electronic check out systems, and making correct change.
  • Perform a variety of duties relating to receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, and other processing of cash items.
  • Receive and store supplies as they arrive at the commissary.
  • Review stock levels by checking the aisles to identify items not-in-stock or low-in-stock.
