DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As a member of the Human Resource Information Management (HRIM) team, this position provides skilled professional support of the HRIM systems and platforms that integrate the full cycle of employment with the City of Houston. Serves as a liaison between management, end users, vendors, and Houston Information Technology Systems (HITS) Department. This position requires knowledge of SAP, Success Factors Employee Central, and Benefit Focus. Key responsibilities include understanding business operations and strategies, gathering business requirements, maintaining and ensuring data integrity, providing technical support for HR applications, and developing reports.

Key Duties:
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders on HRIM system and platform projects.
  • Communicates project status and objectives with stakeholders.
  • Develops reports, schematics and documents for HR processes and rules.
  • Identifies, analyzes, researches and escalates technical issues, ensuring timely resolution for users.
  • Identifies and analyzes HRIM technology needs, gathers and documents business requirements, and defines scope and objectives.
  • Recommends development of solutions or improvements to HR processes via new/existing technology

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.


Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.


Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year- for-year basis..

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required.


Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

  • Hands on experience of SAP, Success Factors Employee Central and Benefit Focus.
  • Experience with SAP HCM modules (Personnel Administration, Org Management, and Benefits), including hands on configuration and developing variant reports using SAP/R3 and S4/HANA would be a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Power BI would be a plus.
  • Experience in developing reports and developing business justification documentation SharePoint online and Power App services would be a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to both internal teams and leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
