This position serves as a senior staff advisor and principal administrative integrator for the Deputy Administrator, supporting executive leadership in the formulation, coordination, and execution of agency priorities.

You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Special Assistant, as described below.
For GS-15 : Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-15 includes: Experience working on projects requiring comprehensive knowledge of Wage and Hour's mission, organizational structure, programs, and administrative processes, as well as the interrelationships among policy direction, operational execution, stakeholder considerations, and external communications.
Experience applying qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to assess programmatic and administrative issues, integrating information from multiple sources to develop coherent analyses and actionable recommendations.
Experience using strategic coordination and integration to manage and complete projects, including the ability to synthesize information across multiple offices and functional areas; reconcile competing priorities; and ensure consistency between leadership direction, operational planning and execution.
Major Duties:
As a Special Assistant, you will perform the following duties which are not all-inclusive: Plans, coordinates and oversees projects and initiatives of critical importance to the Agency that require integration across multiple offices and functions.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates proposals, reports, briefing materials, position papers, and other action documents prepared for executive review or signature, assessing their substance, implications, risks, and alignment with agency priorities and objectives.
Independently determines project scope, sequencing, and coordination strategies; identifies issues requiring executive attention; ensures timely resolution of complex or sensitive matters.
Ensures that executive decisions are informed by a comprehensive understanding of impacts on agency operations, compliance posture, stakeholder relationships and resource alignment.
