Full Job Description

You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT SUPERVISOR I in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT, WATERFRONT SERVICES DIVISON of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will supervise the civilian personnel and work operations of the shop.
  • You will plan, assign and coordinate work activities and personnel of the shop.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of subordinate development and advancement including the apprentice and upward mobility programs and the implementation and execution of Individual Development Plans (IDP).
  • You will plan, coordinate and direct the shop operations through subordinate employees and leads to ensure the efficient, effective and economical accomplishment of shop operations within the limit of policy, production schedules and instruction.
  • You will inspect work in progress, anticipate and resolve problems, reassign personnel within the group, coordinate work among the employees, maintain work progress and upon completion of tasks/work/assignments ensure a quality product.
  • You will ensure equality in determining work assignments, qualifications, training, promotions, discipline and awards.
