Summary

This job involves advising top military leaders on strategy and policy for the US Indo-Pacific Command, focusing on coordinating with government agencies and partners during operations, exercises, and crises.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SENIOR POLICY & STRATEGY ADVISOR of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Working across DoD and the interagency advancing combatant command strategy and policy objectives, and supporting senior leader engagements and messaging.

Experience engaging senior leaders in policy discussions; excellent briefing and writing skills. Demonstrated ability to lead planning and executing sensitive, high-level, engagements.

Understanding of DoD approaches to strategy, policy, campaigning, and engagements.

  • You will lead the J5’s key leader engagement and inter-agency battle rhythms during real-world operations, exercises, and crises.
  • You will develop and provide high-level strategic planning and policy advice to the Director of Strategic Planning and Policy (J5) and Deputy Director
  • You will coordinate with U.S. government interjacencies and public, private, and intergovernmental sectors to integrate their equities into strategic, deliberate, and crisis action planning.
  • You will lead the implementation of Department of Defense and inter-agency policies to enhance regional security.
