Full Job Description

The Senior Director of Revenue and Accounting provides strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight of the university's core financial functions, including Accounting and Controls, Business Office, Student Accounts, and Sponsored Programs.

This role is critical to ensuring institutional compliance with federal and state regulations, maintaining audit readiness, & developing & enforcing robust financial policies & procedures.

Position requires a collaborative leader with deep technical expertise in accounting operations, federal grant compliance, and internal controls.

The Senior Director plays a key role in safeguarding institutional assets, maintaining compliance, enhancing financial integrity, & supporting executive decision-making.

Requirements

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, accounting, or audit, preferably within higher education or similarly regulated environment with accreditation standards (SACSCOC).

Experience managing federal grants and compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), GAAP, GASB, SEFA prep, financial statement prep, and Single Audit coordination.

A valid driver’s license and safe driving history are also required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.

Additional Information

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and federal/state compliance framework for higher education, understanding of Single Audit process, SEFA prep, and federal/state grant compliance.

Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Banner Finance), reporting tools (e.g. Informer), cash collection and electronic storefronts solutions (e.g. TouchNet).

Ability to assess and redesign business processes for efficiency and compliance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with accounting operations, bank statements, accounts receivable, and cash control policies.

Ability to develop, implement, & enforce financial policies & procedures.
