Full Job Description

Join a high performing team in support of a transformational software replacement project for the Washington Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (District and Municipal Courts).

We are replacing a legacy Case Management System with a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to improve services for the court and probation customers of AOC.


The Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (CLJ-CMS) project is seeking an experienced Data Migration Specialist to join a high-performing team of technical specialists.

This position will work with the project’s Business Analysts and Vendor to identify field level data mapping, migrate data from SQL Server and other data sources and convert it over to the COTS products.

This position is responsible for designing, testing, and executing data conversion routines to migrate data from legacy databases into the new COTS database using current ETL tools and best practices.

The successful candidate will create and implement automated validation routines to report on and ensure that data quality, integrity, and completeness are maintained.

This position will participate in design reviews of high risk, high impact statewide systems and services.


Reporting to the CLJ-CMS IT Supervisor, this senior-level position is expected to work independently and has decision making responsibility commensurate with the role.

Status: Project – Limited Duration, Full-Time*

Salary: Range 72: $93,804 - $123,084 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION


AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.


This position requires at least two (2) days per week working onsite at AOC facilities

Requirements

  • Participate in design reviews of high risk, high impact statewide systems and services.
  • Responds to customer service requests and provides expert level troubleshooting, problem resolution and consulting.
  • Participates in design reviews of high risk, high impact statewide systems and services.
  • Reviews and evaluates work products for accuracy and applicability.
  • Performs duties as required.

Qualifications

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Senior Software Developer may substitute for the qualifications listed.


A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, OR closely allied field, AND:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in a complex information technology environment TO INCLUDE:
    • Five (5) years of experience using modern ETL and data cleansing tools, such as: Informatica PowerCenter Designer, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Manager, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Monitor, Informatica PowerCenter Repository, and/or SQL 2012 or higher programmable objects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Skilled in writing SQL queries or other program languages for data verification and quality assurance purposes and creating analysis-ready data tables.
  • Experienced or proficient with computer database software, analytical tools, and other programming languages, including SQL, R or Python, HTML, C#, ArcGIS, and/or other IT-related languages or applications
  • Experience with Git source control and CI/CD technologies is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in the following:
    • T-SQL
    • SQL Server
    • Data Conversion
    • Data Cleansing methodologies
  • Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools strongly desired.
  • Able to identify key facts in a range of data; notices when data is inaccurate, incomplete, or needs verification; distinguishes information not pertinent to a decision or solution.
