Summary

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1.) Reviewing and implementing security instructions as they relate to Industrial and Personnel Security to ensure security compliance; 2.) Reviewing, analyzing and resolving problems using security concepts, principles and practices;3.) Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 4.) Coordinating reports and adjudicating security violations for potential security compromises of classified information; 5.) Managing an established security awareness and education program to ensure proper security information dissemination; 6.) Interpreting new or existing security instructions and review/implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1.) Reviewing and implementing security instructions as they relate to Industrial and Personnel Security to ensure security compliance; 2.) Reviewing, analyzing and resolving problems using security concepts, principles and practices;3.) Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 4) Assisting with maintenance and processing of security personnel files; 5) Assisting and monitors conferences or meetings where classified material will be discussed.

  • You will serve as a primary assistant to the Security Manager and is responsible for the administrative support for the Personnel Security Program for the NAVSUP WSS Enterprise.
  • You will compile information for submission to the Security Manager for determination whether clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked or denied as appropriate.
  • You will screen and submit trustworthiness investigations for all government contractors.
  • You will participate in the preparation of the Annual Security Refresher Training Program.
