This job involves handling administrative tasks related to security at an Air Force base in California, such as processing ID cards, vehicle permits, and access badges while ensuring people meet background checks and legal standards before entering the installation.
It's a clerical role focused on coordinating security paperwork and using computer systems to vet personnel and visitors.

The primary purpose of this position is: to coordinate, implement, provide, and perform moderate/difficult duties and responsible security clerical/administration work, process various security related documentation and assist in the enforcement of federal and assimilated local laws for application/enforcement at a large multi-mission installation to ensure personnel are identity proofed, vetted and meet all fitness requirements prior to being allowed installation and Restricted Area access.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Series 0086 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience.
General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates my ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Knowledge such as the body of standardized security rules, regulations, and directives to support and process a variety of standard personnel security actions, ID cards, vehicle permits, restricted area badges, or other forms of authorization.
OR EDUCATION: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge/Ability to exercise sound judgment in application of security directives and principles. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects. 2.
Knowledge of personnel security, investigation processes and applicable AF regulations, directives, instructions regarding security and force protection measures. 3.
Knowledge and ability to operate Criminal Justice Information Systems, to include National Crime Information Center (NCIC), CLETS Air Force Justice Information System (AFJIS) and DATAMAXX.
Operate one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations and produce a variety of documents and reports. 4.
Knowledge of Foreign Visit System (FVS) and electronic Physical Access Control System (ePACS) vetting standards for visitors requesting installation access. 5.
Knowledge of Homeland Security Presidential Directive - 6 (HSPD-6), criminal codes/statutes and immigration laws used in screening personnel and Homeland Security Presidential Directive - 12 (HSPD-12), policy for common identification standard for federal employees and contractors.

Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, guide others and accomplish multiple ongoing projects and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Performs and enforces Pass and Registration duties, processes applications and issues identification cards, contractor access badges and temporary passes to eligible personnel.
Performs and enforces the full range of identity proofing, vetting and fitness determinations for installation access. Manages the administration of the Restricted Area Badge (RAB) Program.
Processes applications and issues Restricted Area Badges. Maintains controlled forms and provides general customer service.
