The primary purpose of this position is: To implement and administer security functions within Commander, AirCombat Command's (COMACC) BLUE FLAG exercise program and Joint National Training Capability (JNTC)supported exercises for the 505 Combat Training Squadron (CTS).
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and physical security assignments, advising operating officials, and developing guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.
Knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting reviews, collecting and analyzing information, etc.
and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, variations in information safeguarding characteristics, access and entry restrictions, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.
Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls.
OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1\.
Knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security procedures for physical, personnel, and information security programs within the organization. 2\.
Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures and practices to assist managers in complying with established security programs. 3\.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating multiple security programs (Personnel, Physical, and Information) to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization. 4\.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, through clear, concise, and technically accurate written materials. 5\.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 6\.
Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Duty 1: Serves as COMACC's BLUE FLAG program Security Program Specialist for the collateral security function at the505 CTS and five contractor organizations, to include security education.
Duty 2: Implements policies and procedures covering the safeguarding of classified information and implements 505CCW personnel security investigations/adjudication systems for case management.
Duty 3: Develops, initiates and disseminates foreign disclosure policy guidance to group, squadron and exercise personnel and assists administration of the Industrial Security Program.
Duty 4: Makes security program risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues for COMACC's BLUE FLAG program, JNTC supported exercises, and assists with wing OPSEC, FDO responsibilities that may require deviations from or synthesis of policies.
