Summary

This job involves planning and managing security programs to identify, protect, and strengthen key assets and infrastructure that support military missions in the Pacific region for the U.S.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the G-3 OPERATIONS BRANCH of MARINE FORCES PACIFIC.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, managing, and executing programs to identify and protect critical infrastructure necessary to support the organization's mission.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the functional expert for all issues related to the identification, protection, remediation, and resiliency of task critical assets.
  • You will develop mission chairs of task critical assets supporting U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC) and U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) plans/missions.
  • You will conduct analysis of Task Critical Assets supporting MARFORPAC Command Element, as well as major supporting commands' core Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs) and those missions supporting USPACOM OPLAN/CONPLANs.
  • You will manage and maintain Critical Infrastructure Protection information, analyze Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) data and develop decision briefs for the Commander MARFORPAC to validate task critical asset information.
  • You will review technical schematics, blueprints, and facilities design documents and plans to ensure that critical infrastructure resiliency and redundancy are incorporated into building design and/or renovation where/when required.
  • You will prepare plans, orders, directives and instructions that are necessary to implement the Commander's policies for the CIP Program. These include SOPs, orders, appendices, the conduct of staff assist visits and inspections.
  • You will provide CIP Program expertise and requirements in order to assist in the development, coordination, and execution of Theater Force Posture Plans (e.g. USMC lay-down in the Pacific).
  • You will develop, plan, coordinate, and execute Expeditionary Critical Infrastructure Protection requirements in order to support USMC distributed operations, Phase 0 events, and large scale-contingencies.
