Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (SAP) in the WARFIGHTING REQUIREMENTS AND ASSESSMENT (N8) of COMNAVSURFLANT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and working knowledge of administering and supporting all aspects of the DoW and DoN Special Access Programs (SAP).

Experience coordinating across all TYCOM Subordinate commands (CONUS and OCONUS) in the implementation, execution, and control of all SAP-related physical, personnel, and information security matters.

Experience practicing exceptional customer service and ability to communicate across multiple echelons within the performance of their duties.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for oversight of all SAP security programs, including roles as SAP Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and SAP Facility Physical Security Officer.
  • You will act as the assistant to the Government Program Manager (GPM), with responsibility for the daily coordination of SAP security and operations.
  • You will provide daily administrative and operational oversight for personnel in the CNSL program facility and ashore units.
  • You will manage accountability, control, storage, dissemination, transmission, and destruction of classified SAP materials and equipment.
  • You will ensure SAP records and files are current and maintained in accordance with command procedures and special security directives.
  • You will schedule and conduct high-level SAP security and operational training briefs and seminars.
  • You will conduct quality control inspections, staff assistance visits, security reviews, and certifications for CNSL commands, including in-depth inspections of CNSL afloat units.
  • You will ensure all SAP-briefed personnel comply with SAP security policies and procedures.
  • You will prepare detailed certification reports for submission to U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC).
  • You will assist in the development of future SAP facilities in conjunction with COMNAVSURFPAC's (CNSP) Project Focus Groups (PFG).
  • You will provide guidance and instruction regarding proper marking, classification, and control procedures for the various types of compartmented information.
