The primary purpose of this position is: Security Forces advisor to the Munitions Maintenance Group commander, squadron commanders, unit personnel and liaison for Host Nation Security Forces Commanders and Host Nation Base Defense Group commanders.

Serves as nuclear security analyst for four geographically separated units.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Security Administration Series, 0080.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes Expert knowledge on a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of DOD, AF, NATO, MAJCOM, and wing missions, functions, and structures pertaining to custody/security.

Thoroughly knowledgeable of laws regarding consideration involving the use of deadly force and force protection as they apply uniquely to each host nation.

The ability to solve problems and differentiate information on the basis of significance and pertinence.

Understands current internal security problems, subversive organizations and their methods and techniques, through knowledge of missions, functions and methods of various intelligence communities for both U.S.

and international countries.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Exceptionally extensive knowledge of a broad range of custody/security programs to accomplish assigned custody/security missions for an installation. 2.

Keen ability to communicate with the Host Nation security officials on program requirements, goals, and potential.

Extensive skill in program analysis focused on process improvement on both the national and international level. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

Operational knowledge of a unique one of a kind weapons system as it applies to NATO custody/security operations. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a site survey and inspection.

Functional skills in organizing material with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing that clearly present ideas, concepts and requirements in understandable and usable formats for both U.S.

and Host Nation Security Force commanders and staff to include higher headquarter agencies from the Host Nation. 6.

Keen ability to interface with a wide variety of agencies at highest organization levels of both U.S. and Host Nation level.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Lead and senior level technical expert and advisor for the PLI surety, custody/security matters within the 52nd Munitions Maintenance Group.

Evaluate unit personnel on readiness through written, verbal, and performance testing. Develops and conducts evaluation scenarios for wing and squadron level exercises.

As the Group nuclear security analyst, collaborates as necessary with a variety of DOD, USAF, NATO, installation and functional area organizations.

Initiates, develops, authors, edits, updates and interprets DOD, CJCSI, NATO, USAFE directives, instructions, and handbooks as they apply to custody/security forces, ensure that security defense plan, contingency plans, and joint operating instructions meet regulatory directives, ensure deviation requests are processed and keeps Host Nation higher headquarters aware of requirements.
