Requirements

As a Security Officer 1, you will be responsible and accountable for the safety and security of patients, employees, students, and visitors of the hospital buildings and grounds.

You will use knowledge of modern safety principles and practices, react quickly, and remain calm emergencies to maintain a safe environment for our campus. This will include:


  • Patrolling all buildings to observe and correct fire hazards, acts of trespass, vandalism, theft, security breaches, and unauthorized persons
  • Utilizing a security vehicle or foot patrol to check for unlocked car doors, investigate accidents, and respond to traffic violations
  • Completing various shift logs, maintenance work orders, and other reports
  • Responding to emergency calls by assisting with patient restraints, evacuation, fire aid, fire suppression, and system restoration
  • Conducting visual and physical scans of high-risk theft areas and patient wards, as well as investigating employee theft
  • Searching patients, employees, students, and visitors to maintain the optimum operations
  • Transporting deliveries, patients, and employees
  • Performing incidental custodial and maintenance duties

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours will be determined, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every other weekend and holidays. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
    • 1st shift (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
    • 2nd shift (4:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
    • 3rd shift (12:00 AM to 8:00 AM)
  • Overtime as needed
  • Free parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
