Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling administrative tasks in a Marine Corps security office, such as managing visitor passes, vehicle registrations, police records, and supplies to support base security operations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OA) in the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing clerical and administrative duties such as preparing and maintaining security files and records, drafting routine correspondence relating to security, and providing customer service in support of security programs.

(e.g. pass and identification, police records, physical security, entry point control, acquisition, etc.).

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing clerical and administrative duties such as preparing files and records, drafting routine correspondence and providing customer service support.

  • You will serve in one of the following areas within the Services Section: Pass and ID/Vehicle Registration; Police Records; Contractor Security; Visitors Center; Blotter Entry, Supply, Civilian Court and Motor Transport Dispatch.
  • You will register vehicles aboard the installation. (Police Records)
  • You will record traffic citation data in various databases and adjudicated traffic citation upon customer walk-in or telephonic contracts, awarding the required number of points as identified in regulations. (Police Records)
  • You will process contractors/vendors for local businesses/contractor's base access passes. (Contractor Security)
  • You will update applicable databases, perform Local Records Background Check and issue a temporary pass following the completion of a National Crime Information Cener (NCIC) check. (Contractor Security)
  • You will receive and process Sponsored Visitor Forms (SVF). (Visitors Center)
  • You will prepare, maintain and file the daily blotter and all relevant correspondence, records and documents, required by policy, governing the operation of the PMO/MCPD. (Blotter)
  • You will be responsible for controlling, issuing, retrieving and maintaining accountability of PMO/MCPD supplies and equipment. (Supply)
  • You will periodically visit local jails, detention facilities and civil course to obtain information and document; pertain to judicial proceedings involving military members. (Civilian Court Liaison)
  • You will be responsible for dispatching, managing and maintaining the PMO/MCPD vehicle fleet, to include controlling, issuing, retrieving vehicles, and maintaining accountability of equipment assigned to each vehicle. (Motor Transport Dispatcher)
