GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing administrative office security support, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, intrusion detection systems, alarms, mass notification, closed circuit television systems.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing clerical and administrative duties such as preparing and maintaining security files and records, drafting routine correspondence relating to security, and providing customer service in support of security programs (e.g.

Security systems, Intrusion DetectIon Systems, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will monitor closed circuit television (CCTV) screens trained on sensitive areas critical assets for a variety of security reasons.
  • You will monitor and operate a Mass Notification System (MNS) to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages and ensure proper operation of system.
  • You will prepare and maintain running logs of major events listing all pertinent information to include proper notification of higher authorities and/or outside agencies.
  • You will ensure proper records storage safeguards are in place and that records are appropriately archived/destroyed as required.
  • You will operate a variety of office automation equipment, including copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanners, and other electronic equipment.
  • You will ensure call rosters on key personnel are accurate and maintain complete and accurate listing of all Fire/Smoke alarm boxes.
