Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing physical security measures at a Marine Corps installation in Jacksonville, Florida, including inspecting systems, managing keys and lost items, and supporting training for law enforcement.

It requires hands-on work with security equipment and helping develop policies to prevent crime and protect against threats.

GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: maintaining key control; inspecting, analyzing, and evaluating security systems; utilizing various security systems and databases (such as the Marine Corps Electronic Security System (MCESS); AND assisting with developing security program policies and procedures.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with maintaining key control, reviewing security systems, and support Physical Security Specialists.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will conduct physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys.
  • You will participate in facility construction and renovation meetings.
  • You will be responsible for the daily support and maintenance of the installation Lost and Found Program.
  • You will support physical security education training programs for Military Police and Law Enforcement personnel assigned to the installation.
  • You will review all security requirement waivers and exemption requests from the installation and tenant commands.
  • You will formulate goals, objectives and solutions for budget submission for the physical security/crime prevention section programs.
  • You will be responsible for the application of security measures, equipment and requirements for physical security, crime prevention, anti-terrorism and force protection efforts aboard installation.
  • You will be responsible for the daily system administration of Marine Corps Electronic Security System (MCESS) aboard installation; provide emergency after-hours support.
