Full Job Description

You will serve as a SCIENTIST in the CORPROATE OPERATIONS 80000 DEPARTMENT of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or ND-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Scientist Designed, built, and maintained end-to-end batch and near-real-time data pipelines for enterprise business datasets using Airflow, cloud-native orchestration tools, and Python/SQL.

Implemented CI/CD and version control.

  • You will translate business requirements into logical/physical data models and create corresponding tables/views in data warehouses, lakes, or lake houses.
  • You will implement automated data-quality checks (schema validation, null-checks, statistical tests) with frameworks like Great Expectations, dbt tests, or custom scripts.
  • You will leverage the engineered platform to apply statistical modelling and machine learning techniques that generate mission critical intelligence, shortening model deployment cycles by 70 % and producing measurable operational savings.
  • You will partner with data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to clarify data needs, define SLA/SLO expectations, and deliver timely data assets.
  • You will maintain up-to-date pipeline documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage diagrams in Confluence, Notion, or a metadata catalog.
  • You will stay current on emerging data technologies (e.g., streaming platforms, feature stores, serverless analytics) and evaluate their fit for existing or upcoming projects.
