The Budget Division is responsible for projecting, requesting, defending, and managing the Department’s budget for Medicaid and other health care financing programs.
Within the Budget Division, the Long Term Services & Supports Unit provides budget and policy analysis in support of assigned program areas, including federally funded rural health transformation initiatives.
We are onboarding new employees using a hybrid approach. The Department supports flexible work arrangements. Depending on the business need and description of the position, we have options that range from fully remote, hybrid, to full-time in the office. OR
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution which includes 27 semester hours of accounting, finance or auditing coursework will substitute for the degree requirement.

Current, valid licensure as a CPA by the Colorado Board of Accountancy will substitute for the degree requirement and two years of professional accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Qualifications:
Prior state experience related to the duties of this position
Experience using state accounting software CORE
Demonstrated experience using quantitative analysis tools
Experience forecasting service utilization patterns
Experience using Microsoft Excel
Experience pulling and analyzing data sets
Experience submitting Grant Applications
DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Professional experience is defined as experience that may include: independent judgment and discretion in performing work duties, a level of specialized knowledge, in-depth work requirements such as data gathering, analysis and interpretation, customer service across a broad range of individuals including key personnel, and/or individual accountability for results.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
All positions at HCPF are security sensitive positions and require that the individuals undergo a criminal record background check as a condition of employment.
This is a term-limited position with funding through September 30, 2030. Successful candidates will sign a Waiver of Retention Rights and normal personnel rules regarding retention will not apply. Additional information regarding term-limited positions can be found here.
