This job involves working as a rigger at a naval air systems command facility, where you'll plan and handle the installation, removal, and movement of heavy equipment, machinery, and building structures using specialized rigging techniques.
You'll also fabricate and repair ropes and cables, set up scaffolds, and test lifting gear, often directing others while working independently.
It's a good fit for experienced tradespeople with hands-on skills in heavy lifting and construction who thrive in a military maintenance environment.
You will serve as a RIGGER in the Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Plan, perform, and direct installation, removal, and repositioning of complex weight handling gear, equipment, machinery, and structural members of buildings.
2) Devise means of moving and controlling movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or in confined of space. 3) Rig and hang scaffolds and staffing for use of various trades.
4) Attaches appropriate lifting gear and maneuver, tilt, and control load, as necessary, by means of attached lines and rigging, or directs others in these tasks.
5) Performs and directs testing of lifting and handling equipment. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
