Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves overseeing the maintenance, planning, and management of buildings and spaces for a naval command in Japan, including coordinating repairs, budgets, and environmental compliance to support military operations.
A good fit would be someone with experience in facilities management or engineering who enjoys handling projects from start to finish and solving practical problems in a structured environment.
Note that medical and dental care is very limited in the location, so candidates should be prepared for overseas living.
You will serve as a Facilities Manager in the Comptroller Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER WESTERN PACIFIC. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.
Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating facilities engineering programs and/or administrative support functions within an organization, AND Developing building specifications, drawings, or plans concerning repairs, restorations, changes or upgrades AND Creating recommendations concerning replacement/repair/assignment of facilities, the labor and supply costs and the extent of repairs/remodeling required.
