Job Description

Summary

This job involves coordinating the placement and support of Navy sailors who are temporarily unable to deploy due to medical or disability issues, ensuring they get the right assignments and attend necessary appointments while integrating into their units.

It requires overseeing programs, analyzing personnel data, and working with various Navy commands to manage these sailors effectively.

A good fit would be someone with experience in military personnel management, strong organizational skills, and a detail-oriented approach to handling administrative challenges in a fast-paced naval environment.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as the Regional Deployability Coordinator in the Administrative Department (N1) of COMAFLOATRAGRUPAC.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying administrative management principles to provide direction or advice on issues associated with the placement or assignment of military personnel.

Examples of qualifying experience may include (1) management experience and knowledge of program planning procedures and directives, and a detailed understanding of the Department of the Navy organization; (2) knowledge in the fields of military manning and military personnel assignments to mitigate the friction and adequate tracking of personnel; (3) understanding of principles, theories, and techniques of program research analysis to develop innovative approaches to solve personnel management issues; (4) knowledge and familiarity with the Deployability Category codes and Distributable Navy Enlisted Classification codes; (5) knowledge of force management functions and techniques to justify manning requirements, allocations of positions and documentation to support changes and authorization; (6) knowledge of programs including Ship Manpower Document, My Navy Assignment System, and TABLEAU systems along with associated governing policies and regulations to determine manpower and manning requirements.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will oversee a program for personnel assigned in a non-deployability status in Commander, Afloat Training Group Pacific (COMATGPAC).
  • You will provide policy, manning support, and oversight to mitigate the friction in the distribution process for Surface Limited Duty (LIMDU) and Disability Evaluation System (DES) personnel.
  • You will be responsible for personnel planning, and management of LIMDU/DES personnel to ensure that these Sailors are fully integrated into assigned organizations.
  • You will ensure that LIMDU/DES personnel attend all their necessary medical and administrative appointments.
  • You will plan, coordinate and advise on proposed strategic actions supporting the integration of LIMDU/DES distribution solutions and manage LIMDU/DES manning actions.
  • You will plan and conduct in-depth analysis, to include the development of command-wide metrics to review and provide assessments of LIMDU/DES distribution.
  • You will work closely with the Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) Senior Regional Deployability Coordinator (SRDC) to properly distribute LIMDU/DES Sailors by ensuring that LIMDU/DES Sailor’s ability to conduct such work.
  • You will maintain close liaison with CNSP SRDC and the Naval Personnel Command Deployability Assessment and Assignment Branch (PERS 454) and the Deployability Coordinators (DC) at servicing Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF).
  • You will review/monitor distribution of non-deployable Sailors in My Navy Assignment and advise CNSP SRDC and PERS 454 as needed.
  • You will facilitate exception to policy requests for LIMDU/DES organizational capacity changes outside of the LIMDU/DES annual review.
  • You will attend all required training and certifications as set forth by the local Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC).
  • You will interact daily in the Commander, Afloat Training Group Pacific manning distribution process for LIMDU/DES Sailors to ensure Sailors are efficiently integrated into assigned organizations.
