A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
This experience may be in, but is not limited to, one or more of the following recreational activities: cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain-climbing and overnight recreational trips.
Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": A professional certification or experience leading groups in outdoor recreation activities such as climbing, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, archery, paintball, cycling or bicycle maintenance.
