About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Kadena Outdoor Recreation. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Cash handling experience is required.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Major Duties:

Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of outdoor recreational facilities.

Types of duties include, but are not limited to the following: complete daily checklists; sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for equipment rental, trips, tours, retail merchandise and collect fees for paintball open play/tournaments; responsible for safeguarding assets and preparing cashier reports; notifies participants of schedule changes; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about items, events, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled; demonstrates and instructs participants in the use of equipment, rules and regulations, and provides guidance; maintains a safe environment for participants, gives safety briefings, and checks the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, areas, tools, and equipment; inspects equipment to ensure safe conditions, cleanliness, and maintenance, and checks condition of rental equipment prior to being issued to customers and upon return; alerts supervisor to problems with equipment, facility, lack of supplies, and patron complaints; responsible for filling out accident forms according to established guidelines and time frames; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies, equipment, and retail merchandise; assists with group activities which require more than one staff monitor; may be scheduled to work at any of the facilities within 18 FSS/FSCO: Hagerstrom Pool, Fairchild Pool and Chibana Flea Market; may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
