Full Job Description

This position is located at Installation Wide Events, Fort Bragg, NC. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF Pay setting rules apply to this vacancy.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.

Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community.
  • Organizes, plans, and evaluates community programs that reflect community interests.
  • Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community, including a variety multi disciplinary events.
  • Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.
  • Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
