Job Description

Summary

This job involves teaching swimming lessons to people of all ages, from infants to adults, at a military base pool in Kentucky, while ensuring safety during classes.

It requires managing lesson programs tailored to different skill levels and working with lifeguards to keep everything secure.

Key Requirements

  • Water Safety Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, Star Guard)
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Work experience in swimming instruction or related aquatic duties
  • Ability to develop and manage swim programs based on student skill levels
  • Knowledge of teaching all levels of swimming strokes and safety/survival skills
  • Lifeguard Certification (highly desirable)

This position is located at Fort Campbell, KY - MWR Aquatics.

This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Health & Retirement Plans.

  • Serves as Water Safety Instructor; Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled.
  • Develops swim program based on student ability levels; Progresses students according to skill level.
  • Instructs all levels of swimming to include appropriate strokes (infant through adults).
  • Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students when appropriate to level of instruction.
  • Works with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
