Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This role involves planning and running arts programs like exhibits, classes, workshops, and events at Holt Park and the Center for the Arts in Baltimore County, while working with community groups and volunteers to promote cultural activities.
It also includes managing gallery spaces and coordinating special performances across parks.
A good fit would be someone passionate about the arts with experience in event planning and community engagement, who enjoys flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Training and Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Visual Art, Art Education, or other art-related degree;
Plus
Two years of progressively responsible experience organizing exhibits, conducting or coordinating art classes or workshops, and/or other related program activities.
(Education in one of the fields listed above beyond a bachelor’s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.)
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
Knowledge of the elements and principles of art design.
Knowledge of art trends and the ability to create displays that showcase specific themes or artists.
Skill in conducting art classes and/or workshops.
Skill in articulating goals, objectives, and tasks to colleagues, volunteers, and the community clearly and concisely.
Skill in working with individuals and the public.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, and direct art exhibits, classes, workshops, and special events.
Ability to communicate effectively in all formats.
Ability to supervise staff.
Ability to recruit, train, and guide volunteers.
Ability to represent Holt Park and the department at meetings and community events.
Ability to prepare reports.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, artists, volunteers, community groups, other agencies, and artistic/cultural institutions.
Licenses and Certificates
Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a Non-Commercial, Class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.

The work of this classification entails some physical labor, including walking over rough and uneven surfaces during inspections of facilities and grounds; infrequent exposure to adverse weather while conducting outdoor public programs and events, and some lifting and carrying while preparing for programs and events.
Employees in this classification may be assigned to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
