About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at Outdoor Recreation, Ramstein AB, Germany. This position does not offer logistical support.

Assists in coordination and implantation of the Outdoor Adventure Program. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 04/20/2026 The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is U.S.

Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S.

permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment.

Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as "ordinarily resident" US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement.

If not already in the commuting area, must be able to verify the ability to arrive before a firm job offer can be sent.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience and/or education in recreation or equivalent that provides an understanding of the routines and procedures for implementing outdoor recreational activities.

Must have practical knowledge and/or experience in outdoor recreational activities such as climbing, cycling, camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.

Must be familiar with outdoor equipment use and maintenance. Must be able to obtain CPR/FA or higher medical training within 3 months.

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time in extreme conditions. Major Duties:

Primary duties include assisting or independently leading activities including but not limited to: indoor and outdoor climbing programs, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, skiing, snowshoeing, and cycling to include road and mountain, hiking/backpacking.

May assist the Adventure Programs Director in creating quarterly program plans, preparing program marketing, and equipment inventory and maintenance.

Will be required to use outdoor equipment needed for each individual activity such as those activities listed above.

Organizes, coordinates, and executes programs utilizing volunteers; sets up and conducts classes, instruction, pre and post trip reports and the scouting of off base locations.

Develops risk management plans and utilizes risk management strategies for Adventure Program day and multi-day trips.

Assists in performing weekly, monthly, or yearly maintenance plan to include maintenance before, during, and after each season for all Adventure Programs equipment, supplies, and inventory.

Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment for prolonged periods of time in all types of weather.
