Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lead lifeguard at a recreation area near a military base in Oklahoma, where you'll watch over swimmers, help run swimming lessons and training, and supervise other lifeguards to keep everything safe and organized.

It's a seasonal role ending in September 2026, ideal for someone with lifeguarding experience who enjoys working outdoors in a team setting and has the right safety certifications.

A good fit would be an energetic, responsible person who can handle emergencies and lead a small group.

Key Requirements

  • Possess or be obtaining American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or equivalent (e.g., Ellis & Associates)
  • Possess or be obtaining American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification or equivalent
  • Experience in lifeguarding and ensuring guest safety at aquatic facilities
  • Ability to assist in conducting swimming and water survival training programs
  • Skills in coaching or preparing competitive and non-competitive swimming activities
  • Supervisory experience overseeing lifeguards, monitoring policy compliance, and scheduling employees
  • Availability for seasonal employment not exceeding September 30, 2026

This position is located at Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. This position is SEASONAL Not to exceed 09/30/2026.

- American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e.

Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification). Major Duties:

  • Responsible for life guarding guest in attendance.
  • Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training.
  • Assist in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required.
  • Oversees the work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies and assists with scheduling of employees.
