This job is for a head lifeguard at a recreational swim facility on the West Point Army base, where you'll supervise other lifeguards, ensure pool safety and maintenance, and teach swimming lessons to users.
It's a hands-on role involving quick decision-making during emergencies and coordinating daily operations.
A good fit would be someone with lifeguard experience who enjoys working with people, stays physically fit, and can handle both team leadership and routine tasks like water quality checks.
This position is located at West Point MWR Recreational Swim. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).
Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1.
Must hold a current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certification.
The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. 2.
Within 6 months of hire, must obtain a pool operator's license. 3. Must have 12 months experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance. 4.
Must be able to use sound judgement, accomplish tasks within established time frames, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
5. Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports. The above experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1.
Possess a Lifeguard Instructor Certification. 2.
Possess a Waterfront Lifeguard Certification The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.
Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official.
All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. Major Duties:
