Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lifeguard at the Aquatics Center on a military base in South Dakota, where you'll watch over swimmers to keep everyone safe, rescue anyone in distress, and provide first aid when necessary.

It also involves helping run swimming programs and classes.

It's a good fit for someone who enjoys working with people, has experience around water activities, and can handle a flexible schedule with no guaranteed hours.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Aquatics Center on Ellsworth AFB.

This is a flexible work schedule within no minimum guaranteed hours; however may work up to 40 hours. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience and practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures. Major Duties:

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Rescues swimmers in trouble and promptly administers first aid if and when needed.

May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area. Maintains schedules of aquatic programs and classes.
