This part-time role involves helping run fun activities like sports games, fitness classes, and special events at parks and recreation centers in Norfolk, Virginia, while keeping things organized and safe for everyone.

Assists with the planning and implementation of programs including sports competitions, senior recreation, fitness, skate park, therapeutic recreation, and special events.Provides oversight and direction of program participants and volunteers, monitors events, programs, participants, and spectators.
Performs administrative duties including answering phones, responding to patrons, completing forms, setting up and breaking down necessary equipment, etc.
Maintains facility order and cleanliness.Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.
Enforces facility rules and entrance requirementsThis position requires excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with and contribute to the growth and development of diverse citizen groups.
• Ability to see, hear, stand/walk for extended periods of time, lift from ground to above shoulder, climb, bend, stoop, sit, push, pull, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and utilize telephone communications Qualifications Requires level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency; Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred.Some experience working in a customer service setting or experience working with children/youth in a recreation, athletics, fitness, aquatics, education setting preferred.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred.

- 12:00 a.m.; not to exceed 19.5 hours per week; flexible hours will apply including weekends, holidays, and special events.
