Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located at Outdoor Recreation on Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas.

This position is Flexible category, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. May include nights, weekends and holidays.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 02/17/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training.

Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.

Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.

Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.

Clean the bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach area, sunbathing areas.
