Summary

This job involves helping run recreational programs for Marines and their families, such as sports events, arts and crafts, or outdoor activities like fishing and camping, by setting up events, teaching skills, and ensuring everything runs safely and smoothly.

A good fit would be someone energetic and people-oriented with experience in fun, hands-on activities who enjoys working with groups, especially youth, in a supportive team environment.

It's a physical role that requires lifting and being on your feet a lot.

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Minimum one year experience in a related recreational activity. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures.

This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Major Duties:

Assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities such as Marina/Fishing Pier, Community Activities, ITT Office, Campsites/Cottages, Arts & Crafts, Fitness/Athletics, Golf Course, Skeet Range, Youth Activities, Bowling Center, and Stables.

Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity in accordance with established policies and participant needs. Establishes schedules of events.

Applies rules and regulations and supervises assigned youth in indoor and outdoor activities. Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events. Schedules and conducts tours and field trips.

Demonstrates procedures common to the activities and instructs in the use of related equipment. Conducts instructional classes in the recreational area.

Helps plan and coordinate details of recreational activities. Maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling, and publicizing activities to attract and motivate participants.

May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy; assists customers and communicates positively.

Takes action to solve problems quickly and alerts a higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact when needed.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards and promptly reports hazards, injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage to the immediate supervisor.

Actively supports EEO principles and the prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
