Division of Gaming:
Ensures that limited gaming is conducted honestly, fairly, and competitively, and is free from criminal and corrupt elements.
What we do:
Determines if an applicant has met all of the regulatory requirements needed to obtain an occupational license based upon a review of the documentation submitted and the results of background checks performed by the position.
Position is responsible for manning the front desk of Gaming Division buildings.
Also is responsible for answering phones, transferring inquiries, processing visitors, accepting and processing applications, receiving payment for services, maintaining records, and handling customer service.
This position greets all individuals that enter the Division’s front lobby and is required to answer all questions or direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
Many questions from customers come as a result of applications, which are directly handled by this position.
Primary Duties:Application Processing
Processes applications such as changes of ownership applications, modifications of premises, changes of trade name and changes of location after the investigations have been completed.
This position will also mail copies of newly issued Division licenses to local licensing authorities, produce licenses approved for changes of trade name and create and mail new licenses for licensees that have been approved for a production tier increase and/or decrease.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:Six (6) years of relevant experience in higher level administrative support in professional office setting, demonstrating high level decision making and multitasking.
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in higher level administrative support in professional office setting, demonstrating high level decision making and multi-tasking equal to six (6) years.
Previous experience in a licensing or regulatory environment.
Proven success working in a fast-paced governmental or public-sector environment, consistently meeting deadlines and delivering results.
Proven ability to manage and protect confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong ability to juggle multiple priorities, stay highly organized, and maintain attention to detail under shifting demands.
Excellent professional communication skills—both verbal and written—with a broad variety of stakeholders including the public, regulated businesses, internal teams, and external partners.
Demonstrated experience as a team player, collaborating across functions, supporting colleagues, and contributing to collective goals.
Experience training and mentoring learners of different styles and backgrounds—both individually and in group settings.
Ability to communicate procedures and policies both verbally and in writing.
Goal-oriented mindset: able to establish targets, track progress, adapt plans, and achieve measurable outcomes.
Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.
As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy.
Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:
Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
