The Seattle Police Department is seeking an organized and detail-oriented person to provide confidential support to the Human Resources Unit on an OOC. The unit is a fast-paced environment that requires the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration. In this role, you will provide direct and complex administrative personnel support. This position needs the ability to work independently, manage priorities and deadlines, with frequent interruptions. This position reports in-office daily to the Human Resources Operations Manager. The temporary term-limited assignment is expected to end 1 year from date of hire.
Requirements
Provide administrative personnel support, which includes but is not limited to:
• Provide customer service and direct inquiries (in person, written/mail, telephone calls).
• Submit, upload, track and maintain highly confidential computerized database tracking systems through web-based systems such as: ACADIS (Acadis Readiness Suite Enterprise), eSOPH (electronic Statement of Personal History), PEDS (Police Employee Data System), HRIS/Workday (human resources information system).
• Prepare official outgoing correspondence to candidates, other law enforcement agencies, courts, and references.
• Coordinate and prepare documents, correspondence, network access, required certifications, and any necessary items for onboarding and/or separation of personnel.
• Assist with benefits including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA’s, Life Insurance, ACA Deferred Compensation, COBRA.
• Assist with inquiries promptly from SPD employees relating to a wide scope of benefits questions (i.e.: eligibility, claim issues, deferred compensation, separation, retirement, new hire benefits, new dependents, etc.).
• Assist with orientations for new employees/rehires including review of completed employment and benefit documents.

• Assist in the management and issuance of SPD ID cards, Access Cards, LEOSA (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act) identification/qualifications and Special Commissions.
• Maintain digital active and separated employee files which include personnel records, benefits, and medical files for all employees.
• Assist with managing and distributing recognition items (plaques, certificates, badges).
• Performs related duties of a comparable level and type as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Two years of progressively responsible clerical work in a personnel office setting is required (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
Position Requirements:
• Must pass a Seattle Police Department background investigation.
• Must perform work on-site.
• Must have a valid Driver’s license.

The full salary range for this position is $34.92 - $40.76 per hour.
New employees begin Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $35.00 hourly. Current City employees’ starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) term limited-temporary, benefits eligible position. This is a Civil Service position eligible for overtime.
