About the Position: This position is located within the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Fort Gordon is approximately 139 miles east of Atlanta, GA; 80 miles southwest of Columbia, SC; 156 miles west of Charleston, SC; 175 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC; and 127 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia.

Fort Gordon's location is in the Augusta metropolitan area (also known as the Central Savannah River Area-CSRA).

Experience in real property management to include accounting and executing real estate transactions. 2).

Experience in performing real estate acquisition, disposal transactions, master planning, and preparing products within Geographical Imaging Software system. AND 3).

Experience in data entry, records management, preparing briefings and decision briefings.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Law, or Real Estate Operations.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the General Real Property Specialist for Fort Gordon's Directorate of Public Works.
  • Ensures accurate maintenance of real estate records and reports which are the basis for data on status, cost, capacity, condition, present use, maintenance and management, manpower studies, and other critical reports and studies.
  • The incumbent determines and recommends solutions and alternatives for fulfilling Fort Gordon's mission requirements.
  • Serve as the Installation Space Management point of contact that determines the classifying and utilization of real property.
  • Prepare utilization inspections and surveys as required by E.O. 12512 and regulations to assure full and proper use of Government-owned lands, buildings and improvements.
  • Assists in development, implementation, presentation, and programming of the Fort Gordon Real Property Master Plan and other properties assigned to Fort Gordon.
  • Utilize Geographical Imaging Software (GIS) system to analyze site impact for recommendations to the Installation Commander.
  • Evaluate real estate, real property and space planning policies and procedures.
