This job involves overseeing quality assurance for CH-47 helicopters in the South Carolina Army National Guard's aviation support facility, focusing on preventing defects, identifying issues in maintenance and operations, and recommending fixes to ensure reliable aircraft performance.

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (CH-47), Position Description Number PDD1065000, and is part of the SC AASF 2, South Carolina Army National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only.
Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training involving planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs (i.e., supporting the development, acquisition, production, use, maintenance, storage, and supply of products concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and non-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items).
Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
In addition to the OPM IORs, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training, involving principles, techniques, and accepted practices of quality assurance work (i.e., the application of statistical sampling techniques sufficient to perform assignments or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems).
Experience in the application and theory of specialization using applicable publications.
Experience in the preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.

This position is located in the Quality Assurance function in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF).
The AASF provides flight, and flight training operations, Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported Units.
The purpose of this position is to establish, develop, and implement the AASF quality assurance and reliability programs. Serves as the Quality Assurance Representative for the AASF.
Work involving supervising, planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs supporting the development, acquisition, production, use, maintenance, storage, and supply of products required by the National Guard.
Such positions are primarily concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and non-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items.
