Agency Summary

The mission of the Marion County Community Corrections Agency is to improve the lives of people in our community. Our role is to provide community supervision, as an alternative to incarceration, using evidence-based practices and comprehensive case management.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for working in coordination with the Program Coordinator to perform a variety of quality assurance responsibilities in order to fully implement system wide evidence-based practices (EBP) with case management, field work, court team, processing, operations center, custody, and all future developing agencies within Marion County Community Corrections (MCCC).

The incumbent in this position will assist team members with development, skills coaching, and quality assurance planning and monitoring.

Adherence to Department of Correction (DOC) standards and to the Eight Principles of Evidence-Based Practices is required.

Incumbent will perform all assigned duties in an ethical and professional manner as detailed in Indiana's Judicial Code of Conduct.

Incumbent in this position requires solid decision-making skills, taking into consideration public safety, team members safety, combined with client and resident safety.

Incumbent will recommend or implement changes to operations, policies or procedures, and workflow that will be considered and reviewed by upper management.

Position reports to Supervisor, Training & Accreditation.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in all areas of quality assurance including, regular audits of team members performance, office processes and workflows by monitoring compliance of team members and departmental policies as it relates to job duties.
  • Offer feedback and submit audit results to the manager of each area as it pertains to departmental policy, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist in providing training for team members on quality assurance during new hire training with MCCC. 
  • Serves in a training role by conducting comprehensive preparation, presentation, demonstration, practice, coaching, case management, case development and case supervision, to develop compliance with departmental and court policy, as well as evaluation and follow- up to remain current with DOC standards.
  • Meet with supervisors on a regular basis to recommend agency changes as it relates to MCCC.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in supervision trends within the agency that could apply to fieldwork, office visits, assessments, processing, operations center, custody, computer applications, and case management.
  • Assists supervisors with job assignments and responsibilities for new team members to include case management, operations center, processing, and custody.
  • Develop and suggest standards or policies for each area of MCCC and submit to the manager. 
  • Confidentiality is to be maintained at all times.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field or two (2) years' experience working in Corrections or the Criminal Justice System In lieu of a college degree a combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skilled in establishing cost effective programs and quality controls.

    Must have demonstrated knowledge in leadership, management, contracts, personnel, and process performance measurement.

    Knowledge of investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements of court evidence is required.

    Knowledge and ability to train, advise, and assist team members and the public in all aspects of the agency.

    Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures, interpret, and explain court decisions to clients, and participate in municipal boards or committees, as requested.

    Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
