As a Purchasing Agent with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, you will conduct a wide-range of technical work in the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the department to continue to flourish and succeed.
Specific duties include the review and preparation of purchase requisitions and orders, the preparation of bid proposals, the review and award of bids, and other assignments in relation to agency procurement functions.
Excellent networking skills are essential, as you will be working closely with vendors, bureau and regional directors and staff, Department of General Services (DGS) buyers and staff, comptroller personnel, and various other officials within state government concerning purchasing related issues.
You will be responsible for ensuring purchase requests are in compliance with established purchasing procedures and guidelines; assisting with the maintenance of the Master Card Purchasing Card Program; and conducting daily verifications of the on-line banking service used for purchases of products through Game Commission website.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of the six month probationary period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
