Full Job Description

Under general direction, provides management and oversight of the security functions at facilities. Plans, directs, and coordinates security activities to safeguard City assets, employees, guests, or other property through the development, implementation and management of policies and methods to protect against. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Weekends, nights, holidays as needed


Requirements

  • Develops, organizes, and manages security programs and initiatives to include appropriate standard operating procedures, policies, and directives.
  • Oversees staff including hiring recommendations, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and ensures activities are consistent with goals and objectives.
  • Develops and enforces security standards. Provides management of maintenance and testing of security systems.
  • Develops and evaluates metrics for analysis of security program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provides coordination with appropriate law enforcement to ensure consistency and cohesion between security concepts and law enforcement initiatives.
  • Travels to different facilities to evaluate and review security measures. Provides recommendations based on analysis.
  • Seeks and creates opportunities for improved performance, learning, and development of staff. Identifies and addresses problems or conflicts.
  • Maintains all aspects of Security Operations at the highest Standards including Policy and Procedures, Operating Manuals, Enforcement of Code of Conduct Policies, Access Control System, Incident Emergency Messaging, Camera Technologies, etc.
  • Manages Event Command Operations, Supervises Contract Security Operations, and supervises and interacts with SAPD, SAFD, Angeleve Medical Services, National Weather Service and Allied Universal Event Services.
  • Works with Event Manager to coordinate and manage Security, Parking and Traffic related duties.
  • Coordinates with SAPD Traffic, VIA Park & Ride, Ride Share to develop the Alamodome Parking and Transportation Plans for all large events.
  • Assists in preparing and monitoring of division budget.
  • Oversees hiring, supervising and training of Parking and Security staff.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the departmental security budget.
  • Interviews, selects, supervises, develops, evaluates, counsels, and if necessary, disciplines personnel according to established COSA policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
