Full Job Description

Oversee the operation of the Health Department's Preventive Medicine Clinic (PMC). Supervise employees.

Represent the clinic in departmental work and community and planning council efforts.Grant funded.Posting may close at any time.

Requirements Coordinates all PMC operations to ensure quality care for HIV positive individuals.

Performs professional and managerial level administrative tasks to plan and achieve departmental short-term goals and objectives; troubleshoots routine and special situations and follows through to resolution.

Interviews, selects, and trains or ensures training of PMC work group for staff development. Evaluates personnel performance. Initiates performance counseling and disciplinary actions.

Provides guidance and support to employees in the performance of their duties.

Reviews, recommends, and implements policy and procedure changes in clinic to improve efficiency and enhance customer service.

Helps establish and maintain clinical and support service referral networks. Oversees clinical documentation.

Ensures compliance with any or all applicable laws, civil service rules, statutes, and regulations. Updates staff on applicable changes.

Helps ensure compliance with medical protocols and administrative policies and procedures. Provides input for federal and State grant applications. Recommends and manages clinic budget.

Performs direct client assessments and clinical support activities as necessary. Serves on department committees or ensures representation for PMC.

Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.

Master's degree in nursing, social work, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.TO APPLY, must have Three (3) full-time years of supervisory experience, having had the responsibility for supervising the work of employees and conducting their performance evaluations.TO APPLY, must have One (1) full-time year of healthcare, social work, or related experience.Clinic management experience and experience with HIV preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills. If hired, must provide proof of educational attainmentat New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment.

A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

Additional Information This position directly supervises seven (7) employees.While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.Regular attendance is essential.

Incumbent must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others.

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others.
