The Communication Division within the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill a Public Information Officer II position. We offer a great place to work, learn and grow professionally.
Managing the development and execution of strategic communications for assigned divisions and programs within the department.
Managing news media relations, including incoming requests, proactive pitching, coordinating responses, planning media events and drafting messaging.
Educating the public and state agencies regarding agency programs, goals and objectives.
Writing and editing articles, brochures, reports, scripts, news releases or material of a technical nature.
Creating and maintaining content for social media platforms and internal employee portal.
Assisting with technical, photographic, audiovisual and related services.
Coordinating and managing creative design, multimedia or website requests.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:
Has a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
Has a bachelor’s degree related to communication or public relations.
Has experience working in a public relations, advertising or marketing agency.
Has experience related to media relations and social media, and coordinating creative design and multimedia video.
Has experience working in a team environment.
Is detail oriented and a self-starter.
