This job involves working as a nurse in Nashville public schools, where you'll assess students' health, provide basic care, manage medications, and keep records to support their well-being.
It's an 80% position in a busy school environment, starting in August.
A good fit would be a licensed nurse who enjoys working with kids and diverse communities, with some experience in health services or public health.
Provides nursing services in Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools.Evaluates the health needs of students attending assigned schools.Provides or arranges for selected screenings and assessments.Provides care coordination/case management.Provides generalized health services.Implements medication distribution system.Maintains student health records.Performs related duties.
Qualifications Licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Tennessee. Diploma or Associate’s Degree in nursing.
Candidates with Diploma or Associate’s Degree in nursing must establish a documented ability to competently perform all functions of this classification to be considered.
Bachelor’s degree from a state-approved school of nursing preferred.All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment.
Possess required competencies upon hiring.Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Governments employment-based immigration programs.
