Job Description

Summary

This job involves creating and managing social media content to promote the Small Business Administration's disaster programs, including videos, posts, and press materials to engage the public and build awareness.

You'll monitor media coverage and prepare communications for leaders and outlets.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST for, US Small Business Administration, Field Operations Center East in Atlanta, Georgia.

This position provides planning, building and implementation of social media strategies to drive engagement and build brand awareness.

Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

You may qualify based on experience, education or a combination of both. A combination of education and experience as indicated above.

This specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in creating engaging content (text, image, graphics and video) to be shared across social media channels to drive engagement and build brand awareness; AND Experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or Final Cut Pro to create engaging video content for social media; AND Planning, organizing, and preparing written communications, such as press releases, presentations, articles, photos, flyers, etc.

As an PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST at theGS-1035-12, some of your typical work assignments may include: Anticipating in the coordination of social media campaigns and strategies for driving engagement and building brand awareness.

Participating in creating correspondence for ODR&R leadership addressed to public officials and private organizations about the disaster program.

Monitoring newspaper, radio, television, and internet coverage of the disaster program and provide supplemental information to correct any irregular or inaccurate media information.

Using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or Final Cut Pro to edit videos highlighting SBA staff and leadership in action.

Creating scripts, digital tiles, and videos to create engaging content to be shared across multiple social media channels.
